    hard shifting big red

Hello everyone - first post here so bear with me please. I have a 83 Honda Big Red with the automatic clutch. The 3 wheeler runs fine and I have had no problems with it until now, the clutch/shifting lever has been really hard shifting the last couple times I had it out. It seems like I really have to mess with it to get it to shift all the way back up into neutral, while shifting down seems ok. I really don't want to break anything and wondering if anyone has any insight on this problem. Also it has been pretty cold outside lately if that has anything to do with it, before now it's always been ridden in the summer. thanks in advance for your help, Scott.

increase the adjustment on the right side of the motor. back off the nut, turn the shaft until it tightens, then back it off off a quater turn. tighten back up. see if that works.

Thats clutch adjustment wont effect shifting. Maybe your shift fork is bent.

Thanks for the replies, I will check the clutch adjustment, can't hurt either way. I also found and downloaded the manual for this trike, so I'll take a look there as well. This is my first three wheeler so it could be fun tearing into it a little, I just hope it's not too messed up.

If the clutch is adjusted to where it wont disengage it will
result in hard shifting (on a Honda anyway ) .

If you oil is low, or too thick then it will shift hard also.
