    200x Axle Question (New trouble)

How do you remove the rear axle from a 86 200x? I am trying to replace the bearings but cannot get the axle off. My main question is: Do you remove both of these bolts?

I have WD-40 Soaking on it now. Any other tips appreciated.

neither you take off that oring on the right of the locknut and then them nuts will slide off then you can hit the axle out to the left

I do not see a snap ring. This is a 86 model, not sure if that makes a difference.

Yep thats where it should be ... just pry it out of there, and then everything else is pretty much self explanitory.

Yeah that one is reverse threaded i think. Once you untighten them to the left enough, the snap ring should be exposed. Then you can just pop it out with some pliers. The rest of it should be loose enough to remove and slide off the axle by then.

I have used a pipe wrench w/ 3' bar on the end to move those nuts. They can be really hard to remove, heat it up with a Mapp gas torch, it should be somewhat easier to get off.

id use a 15" cresent wrench and a pipe, over a pipe wrench. Heat it up with mapp or carefully with oxy acetilene (spelling is way off). Then wrench on er

I do not have a torch and I have now bent both pairs of channel locks. I will have to go get a new wrench tomorrow. Thanks again for the suggestions.

get a pipe wrench fitting its size, its far stronger than any channel locks.
