Will any newer key switches like 450r fit 250es

My 86 has some junk Ignition ket switch rigged into the dash.It has went bad and I need a replacement.A new ignition switch from the local place is about 80 bux.They go pretty high on ebay also.
I saw alot of 400ex and 450r ignition switches pretty cheap on ebay.I was wondering If anyone has wired one of those up on a big red.The junk one that on there now has only two wires so it doesnt kill the motor when the key is switched off.thanx

Heya,
I have 2 -300exs, both ignition switches are also 2 wire. On the 300s, you can unplug the ignition wires and plug them together to make it run.Hope this helps. I also have an 85 for parts with the ignition switch on it, dunno if it works but it turns with the key. The key isnt honda either. Dave

Is that parts trike ignition a stock one with a replacement key

The stock 250ES keyed ignition is still available from honda for about $35.

if you have a kick start bike, you can use a crf50 key switch. I have those on my bikes.
