tecate question
is a 38mm mikuni flat slide a good carb for a 84 tecate?
-
Not a stock Tecate. A 34 mm will do great.

I dont see why not even if it is stock.

The "which trike to ride' thread to end all "which trike" threads...
Hello again, all....
Well, I have an incredibly vague question, but is one I need to try to get answered, as I have multiple bikes available for sale locally, and I want to try to get the best one.
My dimensions (lol): 6-foot-1, 300 lbs. I am not some fat slob of a guy, with fat rolling everywhere, I am just very solidly-built, doing weightlifting extensively in high school, I was scrawny and 255 lbs in 9th grade...at any rate, I weigh a lot. I want one of the two-stroke trikes, but due to not being to ride any of them in the last few years, I am not sure which would suit me best. Here are the three I am looking at:
1986 Tecate
1984-1986 Tri-Z
1983-1986 250R (both air-cooled and water cooled)
I have heard various problems with all three bikes (footpegs snapping off, and handling issues with the Tri-Z, gee, I don't think throwing 300 lbs. at a set of Tri-Z pegs would be an intelligent choice....Kawasaki? not sure...same about the Hondas)....at this point, my loyalties lie toward the Yamaha, but I really don't care which bike I pick up at this point, I just want a trike, something fairly reliable and fast, and I don't want a quad to ride, having the front end act as a shovel in any mudhole I run into.....Most of my riding will be of the trail variety, so this would influence my choice....So essentially, any opinions you guys might have would be valuable, and in addition, this might actually be turned into a "what's the best trike for me" article, who knows?
Thanks for any replies....
