So just to clear things up, I called ServiceHonda. They told me that honda requires a DL number and VIN number for any STREET bike OVER 300cc. Even though I still dont think that this information at the parts level is going to get anyones bike back or stop anyone from repairing a stolen bike, its makes a little more sense knowing that it's for street bikes.

Bringing back an old thread, but I ordered a crankcase from servicehonda and they gave me a call this morning asking me if I knew but I was at work, is Honda going to know any different if I just give them my drivers license #?
Does Honda keep records of everybody who owns one?
