    Handling ? concerning 200X/250R

Forget completely about the motors, I'm strictly talking how the trikes handle here .......

I had two 86 200X's and just loved how they flicked around with ease and the size of them just seemed perfect to suit my size (6'/190lbs) just fine. Weight wise I was a bit on the heavy side for a 200 but for what I used it for it did just fine. I don't have them any more but wish I had one to do a direct comparison to my recently bought 84 R because ............

The R feels like a huge BEHEMOTH of a trike to me and although I'm not being real fair to totally judge it since I only rode it for 15 minutes, from memory I really favor the X over the R concerning the flickability of it, I hope in due time I find myself wrong though and I will get more comfortable on it.

The aftermarket bars seem so wide and high .........and I don't think I like the twist throttle on it as it seems in certain body english postions the twist throttle puts my wrist at a awkward position.

What is the stock width and height of the bars on a 83/4 R ?

If you had or have a X and R, please tell me your thoughts on this.

    Thanks!

That's funny....I was thinking the same thing about you.

I think you should get a little more time on the 250Sx before you hop on that 300R.

I would pick the 200X for flick ability. The 2ooX is just a better trail machine.

Sounds like a setup problem more than anything. Of course every trike will handle different and I'd be willing to bet that the 86 200X handled better than the air cooled R.

Tires, wheelbase, rake, handlebar height and angle, fork height etc etc all make it an entirely different machine...

I own both the 86 200x, and 83 250r. I'm 16 years old 5'8 and 130 pounds lol... I do feel more comfortable on my X compaired to my R. But the R is growing on me, and I am getting use to its size. I'm still scared of my R quite a bit but I think as time goes by, and more riding time will make me feel more comfortable, and be able to do the things with it as I do on my X.

I see riding posts and pics from Huffa ALL the time.. how can you not know that he rides alot?!

And I've always thought the 83/84 R looked a bit small for the power it cranks out. I have an '85 R and I LOVE it. Its so light and maneuvers awesome. I can't talk about the earlier years though.. never rode one.

I don't think that Tires that hook up better would be a good idea for Huffa.

He mite find himself in the brush on that 300R.

but the lower stance of the holeshots I would think make it a bit more stable... than say the stock ballon tires. don't you think?
