    Tri-Z brake rebuild kits?

    I have done some searching, and not too sure what is available for rebuilding the front and rear calipers, along with the rear master cylinder. I thought I would soak them all in brake fluid to clean them up and break up any rusted parts before polishing or painting prior to reassembly. Doing this, I am kind of afraid that I might eat up any and all rubber parts. Before I take this step, I figured I best be sure all parts were available to replace! Since I am this far into my project, should I just replace these parts with something newer that does have parts available?

    Can you lead me in the right direction?

    I think that Dennis Kirk (denniskirk.com) has a rebuild kit, not 100% sure. Worth a try..............

    Yep, started there actually, but didn't find anything. I also looked at OEM sites, but there isn't a "kit" to rebuild, and you have to order each part.

    Anyone been there, done that?

    You are correct, all soft parts have to be ordered separately and from yamaha. When it comes to this sort of stuff oem parts are the only way to go. However, there is a (kit) for the rear master cylinder that includes everything you need. I did mine this way and have never had a problem since. And it's been years.

    Yamaha banshee rear master cylinder rebuild kit works for the master cylinder.Or you can just buy a used master off e bay for the banshee.they fit the z.You just have to reuse the lower adjuster that attaches to the brake lever.I have ordered the individual caliper kits for honda's but not the tri-z yet.So I dont know if they are available.Most of the newer banshee master cylinders are bare aluminum,so polishing them is easier.I just did mine last night.took about an hour.
    Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

    Well, I found Yamaha rebuilds (o-ring and seal) for the calipers, and will try to get them completed this weekend. I didn't realize the front and rear caliper was the same! This "looks" fairly easy, but nothing has been on the project thus far.

    Yamahahonda man also sells stainless steel caliper pistons that will never rust.You may want to pic up a set from him.
