That is a 1983 gas tank, and the 83's had front suspension from the factory. What model year is this machine? Was the suspension upgraded? or is this an 81 or 82 185S with a newer gas tank?

Vegas,

1983 was the last year for the ATC185S. In 1984 the 200S took it's place. What displacement is stamped onto the side of the engine. If the paperwork says it is a 1985 ATC185S - it is plainy wrong.

Re-read my post - Either the suspension was upgraded from an 83's existing suspension, or it is an older model with an 83 gas tank and a suspesion kit. Sorry if I did not make that clear.

uhh, it's a 83, the forks are after market.

i have an 83 with a 200x cylinder,piston,head and a super trapp and that thing probably goes about 50mph. i nead another one!!
