got the 86 t3 roller home

well went up this morning to meatbox's place to pick up the 86 roller. well worth every penny. might not look like much, but its actually not bad. lot of cowpie on it, the guy who owned it must of been running threw manure or something, lol. but all in all its a good roller for the price. meatbox, it was nice to meat you, and a pleasure to do business, thanks a million. anyways, this thing is getting put out on the trailer for now till i get my other two finished. will buy a part here and there for now. just glad to get it home, and say i own a 86 t3 now.

pics are a bit dark, but better then nothing. it has the stock tires and rims on it, rims are in awesome shape and tires have tons of tread. but are a bit dry rotted, even though, they still hold air. good enough for now. when i start working on it it is getting the once over, going thru everything and whatever aftermarket goodies i can find to slap on it i am. will keep you all posted with progress pics and news.

    and one more thing...

as you can all see, its going to need alot to get redone. i will be in the market for a good tank and seat, as well as the radiator shrouds. i have heard of hornet powersports for the repo's, is that correct? what about the head light plastic? if anyone has any leads on these items let me know.

Actually it looks real good, and has alot of parts on it that are hard to find.

Did ya ask where the other parts went? It's always frustrating when you know they threw them away!

yep hornetpowersports makes the shrouds and the head light cover, just got a set from him and they are very nice. trust me i'm pickey. fenders front and rear call Bob Tracey's 1-800-860-0686 front - 68.73 rear - 146.16 . shipping was like 34 bucks they have had the best prices on oem kawasaki parts, if any body knows someone cheaper let us know. i might have a tank for you im tring to work out a deal with a guy that has some parts, if it's true he has a tecate gold mine. i have heard a lot of talk but have not seen anything yet. looks like a good start though. i would have bought it for twice the price.

Notice he also has the radiator coolant run-off tank...(forgot what it is called)..

Nice start! If the swinger fell in two, then how is the whole set up? Any huge gauges?

Good luck with the resto, Its great to see another B series Tecate get the chance to ride again.

I reckon a nice kx450f motor might fit in there just nicely. eh

cool info guys, i will definately being picking some of your brains here in the future. as far as what i am gonna do, alot of different schemes are coming to mind. might go with the same color scheme as the 85 i am doing, thats what i am leaning towards right now. was thinking of going with the oem look and having the 86 decals on it. but then i was thinking maybe white fenders and green frame, but dont really want to paint the fenders and doubt i can find white ones anywheres. as far as aftermarket goodies, i have been keeping an eye on that thread about the durablue axles, that will be a must, as long as whatever work i might be able to get done to the motor i dont have yet, lol. progressive springs for the forks if they make them, the rear shock is cover with cowdookie right now, but is in good shape from the looks and feel of it. the possibilities are endless for me right now. sitting there in bare frame form, my mind just wanders, lol. first thing i will be getting is all the cosmetics, so it looks like a t3. having the wifes father sandblast the frame and whatever else i need done, and go from there. its gonna be a long process, like i said i have to get the 85 done first, and my blaster parts should be here today, so i am gonna be busy busy busy. i will keep you all informed.
