Another Project Started... and now Ending..Pics

Decided this weekend to tear into the first red R that I picked up, I wanted to get it cleaned up before I started riding it ,or it would never happen (you know how that goes). Totally stripped the trike on Fri night in about 3 hrs, Not a single stuck bolt, not even the axel lock nuts . Lots of cleaning and scrubbing and this is what got done Sat. & Sun (before the 500). I'm amazed at how good things came up for a machine thats pretty much original.

EDIT- you got any trike running right now? I sense some winter ice riding!

Found these on E bay back in Oct and they never got a bid, called the guy in Dec and bought them in Jan from Chicago, 3-250R's, a 14' enclosed trailer and tons of parts. I wanted to get them cleaned up before riding them as they have been sitting for a couple years and also to get an Idea of the condition of the motors. 2 are original bore and one is on its first over. I'd love to come riding but my seat for my 350X is at the Mosh's for a new cover, PM me yor # and I'll call you sometime this week, hopefully one of the R's will be running by the weekend.

Finally completed the cleaning an freshening of the three R's I picked up in Jan.
Here's how they turned out with little more than elbow grease and some time. Definately not a restoration (was never intended to be) Just stripped down to the frame and cleaned, put back together. Two of them were at the service limit of the original pistons so I had to go with the first over rebore on them, the other was just done before I bought them.
Trailer was also included and has exceeded my expectations, Not the most glamorous looking thing but works just excellent.
My brother is taking one of the trikes and a good friend of ours is taking the other, so I get a 250R and an enclosed trailer for less than a grand

This is my keeper, stock except for boyesen reeds, and a couple of different sectional pipes(depending on the ride location), coffman silencer. Motor is a fresh first oversize and it has new maier plastics. Never had an R as a kid so this is my first one

First two are my brothers new trike, brand new first over piston kit, black powdercoated frame (originally had yellow plastics but we know where those are now ) Paul turner pipe, I think it's a hi rev but it doesn't say on it and an answer silencer, stock other than that.

The last two are of the one I'm selling to a good friend, again stock except for the 1st over piston kit and another sectional pipe and an older FMF silencer.

I guess I need to go change my sig now
