    350x axle bearing replacement/removal

Hey guys among other things i'd like to replace the axle bearings in the rear end of my 350x i just picked up, i was wondering if i will need special tools to take it apart and get the axles off. Any input from past experience would be greatly appreciated so i can get the tools i need before i start the job. Thanks in advance, TC...

Welcome to the Board! You won't need any special tools. The large nuts on the axle are reverse threads. You may need to heat the bearings to get them out? Do a seach this is a common question. Get a hold of a service manual and you will be all set.

    Good luck.

    thanks

Thanks for the info i was hoping i wouldn't need any special tools. I got the manual on CD with the machine so i'll check that out, if i need to heat or press the bearings out i can do that at the machine shop i work at. Is there anything tricky to getting the shaft out of the housing? I've been browsing the board for a while and finally decided to join now that i got the X and plan to start making it a better than average bike but i still plan to ride it all the time...

Thanks again, last year i bought the R and a very clean 200x but i'm 6'2" and the 200 was a little small for a long ride so i decided a 350 was right up my alley. I love the R too but i really dont ride it much due to the higher maintenance that is required, i hope the X is a fire up and ride kind of machine like my 200 was...
