    pipe ????s

    ok i just got my new pt hi rev pipe for duncan racing in today. and i didnt get the chrome done because i like the look of the welds and discoloration of the metal. but in need to keep it from rusting.so i was thinking of putting oil on it. but not sure what wait oil to use. would 20/50 last longer then 10/40. also does any one know of any thing that works any better or makes it change colors faster.

    Any oil or whatever you put on there will burn off pretty quick as soon as the pipe comes up to temp. It might even leave a stain that you can't remove very easily. What you have to do is...after riding...EVERY time after you ride...clean your bike,dry your bike and pipe..and then spray the pipe down with WD40 or LPS 1 and rub it with a fine Scotch Brite pad. *The pipe will NEVER look as good as it did when you took it out of the box*. It's a lot of maintenance to keep a bare pipe looking good.

    Maybe you could use some high-temp clear coat on it? I would assume that would work pretty well. I'm not 100% sure, but I would assume so?

    Check with a truck stop and get the polish they use on the big-rig pipes. Any oil or lubricant you use will burn off after a few minutes and smoke like crazy, not to mention stink.

    I got mine right out of the box as well, I cleaned it after every ride and then some..And last i always sprayed with wd40..Well It took 3 years but it turned into a complete rust bucket..Now i have to get it ceramic coated! All of my non chrome hr have rusted up on me..I guess its because i live in oregon Good luck man! I would of gone with the chrome

    i just got the pipe on. i cut my hand pritty bad when i make a fist my nuckel pops out of my hand.so i am still working on geting new reeds and carb on.then ill get it jeted when my hand gets better scince its my clutch hand.
