    Komodo quads

Any one ever hear of them. I know that there is a severe dislike for cheap atvs but.............My cousin wants to buy one. He knows nothing about 3/4 wheelers and Im trying to steer him in the direction of an older honda. He sais that the dealer stated that all parts interchange with honda 250cc quads (severely doughting this) and a new Komodo 250 is less than 2k. They also say they have a full line of replacement parts (again doughtfull).

    Website: digikool.net

If they were to run honda parts wouldnt they say that somewhere on the site?
I think he is getting taken for a ride by a snake tongued salesman. But then again I have trust issues

My wife got our 2005 Honda Recon (250) last Christmas with a new warrenty for 2600. It was one they used at the Honda safe riding school. It looked just like new and came fully serviced.

I hear the Honda Parts change thing on a daily basis. on most all the smaller china quads/dirtbikes they use engines that are based on the design of old honda motors that the patents have run out on However, there not the same and the honda parts wont fit. At least not from what i have seen. People say stuff like " Well its all honda parts" because then the lesser informed think there getting a real qualitly product for a not so qualilty price.

I own a 2005 Komodo 150 and it is nothing like a Honda or Yamaha motor. The suspension is cheap. There is a collar that holds the spring in place and it is made of plastic. Within 15 minutes that broke. Right now mine is needing some work. I bought it used for $400. It ran fine for about 5 months, but it seems to be low on compression now. I am getting fire and fuel, so I think the head gasket is blown. Don't get it wrong though, this quad looks brand new. I would have never considered buying one if I hadn't gotten it for so cheap and thought my kids would enjoy it. I am lucky though. There is a Komodo dealer within 20 miles of my house. They have been there for a few years so I am able to get parts for it, but it isn't a Honda by any means. You can get a 250cc new for less than $2k or you can get a used Honda 250EX or Recon for less than 2k as well. Trust me, you will have many many years more enjoyment...
Many quads for sale. 400EXs, Z400, 450s ect.
