my cousins rancher has been sitting since november and the battery was dead. the battery is no good. we jumped it , it runs great and idles. it has the esp shifting and the back up manual foot shift. it will not shift into any gear, w/ the esp or the foot shift. any ideas.

I have a Rancher with ESP but I have not had any problems with it. Try a different battery. Maybe the local Honda dealer can help you.
