83 250r gas tank??

I am purchasing an 83 250r and I'm ordering black plastics from mier.

Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can get a new black gas tank?
Or will I just have to paint it myself?

Clarke didn't do it for this modle and the number mier gave me for ims was no worky.

Do you have a number for them?

Well I called them and they said they didn't for the 83. Just 84 and up.

Well that is good to know. Ims said they didn't have it in black either. But after seeing how much tho's things cost I think I'm gonna go down a diff road anyways.

I haven't picked the bike up yet and I've never been around an 83.......Does it have a metal tank?.

If so, I'm good, I'll just paint is and put some graphics on it.

yep its steel like the 81/82 only 85 + were plastik
