    350x differences 85 vs 86

I'm looking into buying another frame to get powder coated and then switch over everything while my bike is still assembled, then selling my original frame. Can anyone tell me if this will be an issue if i use a frame from the other year? Also what are the differences as far as the bikes being compatible with the mounting for the swing arm? Thanks again, TC...

Thanks for hte links but none of them clearly state if you can assemble a 86 on a 85 frame, aside from the minor strengthening everything seems the same, the bearing carrier sounds like to that smae piece because i read you need to modify the aftermarket ones to install them in a 85?

    yes you can swap frames

the rear brakes and the carriers are the big chassis changes...but with the correct swingarm they will work perfect

The 85 frame uses smaller diameter engine mount bolts so you'll need those too.

I figured my bike was an 85 because i bought it as one w/out a title, but the frame numbers are closer to the 86 listing in the tech pages. Mine has a E0603GN in the middle which is a little different for a couple digits (anyone know why?). Anyway i bought an 85 frame and i have everything 85 as far as brake caliper mount, swinger, after market bearing carrier, i got a lonestar adj. axle. I guess i'll just need to check the other minor details and hopefully i can get it together and save the stock swinger set-up assembled if someone wants all of the 86 parts someday. I'm building it to keep and ride but i want to make sure i know what i'm doing or at least have a pretty good idea before i tear into it...
