a guy who would pay 2 grand for a fender would be the kind of guy to pull up to a gas staion thats charging 8 bucks a gallon and fill up with a big grin on his face thinking he's got the best gas in the world. Makes no sense at all, If I had a set laying around they would be on ebay in a frickin heartbeat and I'd mail it to the buyer with a bomb.
sorry

Yeah, that's a lot of coin for sure. But if a guy is well healed and is doing, or having done, ( think Vintage Motorsports) a first class resto, money really is not an option. Much like a vintage car only on a smaller scale. Vintage bikes both on and off road get the high dollar resto treatment if the customer is willing to pay. And sometimes only hard to find oem parts are the only choice. Thats why some restos can take years to complete. To bad i'm not in that league, but at least there will be some very nice 350x's out there that will live a very pampered life.
