I extended my swingarm 6" on my '81R(almost positive it was already +2") and my brake cable is too short. What does everyone else do when they extend their swingarm?

..buy an extended brake line...
You say cable? Does an '81 R not have hydraulic rear brakes? If it does, get a custom brake line part number from the russell website, and order is from www.motorcyclegoodies2.com You will need the appropriate banjo fittings as well. They are available in lengths from 8" to like 60".
If it is cable, look for a longer one.

81 r's have drums on the rear. I think I've got it covered now...got someone at a local dealership looking for one. maybe from a trxR..just have to see what happens

If it is possible, you might want to convert the trike to hydraulic right now while you have it apart.

I was actually thinking of doing that. A friend of mine gave me an 83 200x rolling chassis, and I was thinking of swapping the axles and using it. but the R's swingarm is made for drums, so it would require more fabbing....had enough of that. Plus the x in in really good cond, and I don't want to take it apart, and I already have the drums on w/ new pads and all.
