    84 kxt running sweet again! (stator problems)

    Well, I had my first problem with Ricky Stators. The source coil semi-shorted out. It would still run but real sputtery. Unfortunately I have been running her like that for a while, but it just got worse and worse as time went by. So I got a replacement coil kit off of egay and it's just what the doctor ordered. I actually had the problem solved last sunday but I ran out of daylight and could not try it. Today's ride just confirmed to me that it was a good repair and $ well spent. I'm still gona use Ricky Stators but it's hard tellin what made it go bad in the first place.

    the ole ricky stator debate again. i have hard people say nothing but good things about them, then i have heard my share of people complaining about them.. causing over heat problems cuz they are off on the timing or something like that. i am gonna be using r.s coils in my kx stator but thats about it. i have the complete kx setup for my t3, just needs new coils.

    I've had the RS coils on the OEM stator and it was fine. Ran the complete setup and it was garbage, the both of them that I tried.

    I remember a few weeks ago I said I didn't have any problems with them, and then bam one of them failed. So I guess it hasn't been all roses. But it should last now.(I hope) I thought I had snow getting on my air filter or a bad plug that was causing my sputter prob. Nope it was Ricky.
