will a trx 300 motor fit a 250 big red

i picked up a 1995 300 trx 4x4 rear end is shot. i am thinking of putting the motor. in a 1985 250 big red. some one told me a 300 2x4 motor bolts up in the bigred has any one done this swap. id fix the atv but it has 4 wheeles.

do a seach a member here put a 300 in a 250sx but had to modify the jack shaft assy to make it work, but I think you can jsut put the 300 top end on to have a larger motor, I have a 250es and a 300 motor and if the 250 motor starts giving me any probs I will put the top end on, but for now its all good , but yea jsut try a thread for um.... 300 sx

The TRX300 and the 250 BigRed have the same bore (74 mm) so just swappin out the top end wont give you a bigger motor.

I had already been considering this myself but with some research decided the whole engine out of the 4x2 would be the way to go and high perf. pistons are still avail for the 300.
Cant find any for the 250 since powroll had a big sale I think because they were disc. through Wiseco
