    85R 10 day build

So a few days ago I decide to build an R in 10 days to make it up to silver lake for the season opener. Thought I had everything covered until I started unboxing parts and coming up short on a couple items, mostly small stuff that was overlooked, sold or passed along to someone in need. Anyway, I'm on day 7 and have found almost everything needed to finish the bike but the finishing touches have been ordered so my 10 day build will probably turn into a 15 day build with waiting for mail. Heres a few pics of the first couple days of work.

Thats my goal as long as the weather is decent. May not be exactly the way I want it but it should be ready by then. More pics of day 3 and 4 of the build. I have to take some more pics as it sits now but I've still got a few parts to clean up and paint then its a waiting game.

Thanks guys, heres how its sitting tonight. Had to set the plastic on to get a feel for it. Still have to clean up and paint a few parts for it, install the carb and airbox. I'm waiting on an axle for it then I can roll it out and fire it up.

It's lookin great! Can't wait to ride the sand next week. Gonna have some nice bikes out there for sure. Come on 70's and sun. Love the ESR exhaust, Definately stands apart from the rest with its lowboy style.

I've always ran PT pipes, this is the first esr I've had for the atc but I've been running the esr trx5 on my flat track bike and it is the best pipe I've ran ever and I've had fmf, ct, pt. I actually just sold all my trx pipes and replaced them with the trx5's. This is the atc5 so it should perform almost identically like the trx5 does but we will see. If I can find someone at the dunes with an R with similar mods and a PT pipe I'll try to do a comparison.

What gearing are you using for the dunes on your R? I've got some 8 paddle extreme haulers I'm planning on running.

    13/38 20 inch 8 paddle haulers.

I tried 14/38 for a little while but didn't care for it.

A few more progress pics. I didn't make it to the dune trip (way to cold) Installed the rad valve, 39 pwk, decided to wait and get the axle I wanted to run instead of stock, went with a lsr, antifade lock nut and a solid rotor. I have to drill out my rims to fit the hubs so I put some stockers on for now. Since I have more time now I'm not rushing it and plan to get new controls, cables and new brake lines made up.

Doesn't someone here make brake lines?
