Man some of those are kinda hard to believe, 7mph from the 85-86 Tri-Z? Only thing they changed (speed wise) was the gearing and the 85 isn't geared that much lower...

yes I'm aware there was an "extra" gear in 86, but in reality the 5th and 6th gears in the transmissions are actually geared fairly closely. That, coupled with the effect that even if there was a substantial gear change I don't believe there was enough change in engine power to pull it...

To those that don't know, he's talking about the electric-powered Tamiya Tri-Z r/c kit.

call me skeptical, but 55 for a 185s, and 50.1 from a 250sx? If the honda line spedos are correct, my friends 22 year old, non rebuilt, absolute stock, 85 250es, geared lower than the 250sx, does 54-55, flat ground, oem tires. Id like to know how these numbers were achieved, from honda? from hondaline spedos? from the ol "well i was following my buddy in his truck..." radar gun? gps?

Yes, the 185s WILL do 55 mph, 82'185s has one that will top out at 57 wot on a straight stretch.

One of my friends had several old skool 250r's. He claims he got one up to 81 mph about a quarter mile before it blew up. I dont think it was that much, but I do have the cylinder out of the trike. The head studs were ripped clean out of the cylinder when the head shot off. No threads left down there. This guy puts everything at wot and then some and I can swear hes gone beyond some of those top speeds listed.

The only one I wouldnt agree on is the 110, I could see a 125 hitting 48 but no way could a 110 do 48.

wow... pretty impressive... if i had to guess i would say my 85 350x would be at 65ish... but i guess on a proper tune with a skinny rider it just might do that. Wow

83-85 200x is right. I rode beside a car for about a half mile at 59 topped out.

I've owned about 10 of those machines listed, some showroom new. There's several numbers that are high in the original listing. Some by as much as
    7-8, or even 10 mph.

    dirt bike dan,

If your '85 Tecate will only pull 60, it's either geared down a good bit, or it's definitely not top notch. They won't do 78 stock, but I know they'll do more than 60.
