    one more question though. what type of carbon fiber do i use? will any carbon fiber cloth work? or is there a special type i need?

    I looked into this a while back and from what i learned in a few days worth of research, in order to get the full benefits of using CF (Light weight, and strength) you needed to make the mold where it can be pressed, to remove as much of the excess resin as possible. The resin, from what I've read, is what makes it semi-brittle and heavier then a well made pressed piece.

    well i got into the prject by getting prices and well just does not seem economical. so i contaced maier to see if they would make a set of carbon shrouds and they said yes but i need to order 10 sets. who all is intrested?

    dont know if you know this but the maire carbon fiber is just a print not the real deal..http://www.maier-mfg.com/ezcart/products/50968-.jpg

    This is exactly the barrier me and my dad came up against when making bodywork for a lightweight race car, found that it would be alot of work to get the weight savings for the cost, ended up with fiberglass and shaped Aluminium instead

    yes i know but for the look and only around $50 a set its alot cheaper than $100 a shroud.
