    Smile new guy 86 250r

    hey guys i am a new guy and i had a question about a 250r i just bought on and it is in all right condition and it is my dream bike and this is the only one around where i live i just put all new cables and bearings and clutch and also all new gaskets but the guy i bought it from did not no to use the chain tesioner but neather do i so i was wondering if any of u guys could explain how it works i no thins it a stupid question but i am use to 200 chain and shafts and 250 big reds this is my first racer thanks

    you loosen the pinch bolts on the rear of the swingarm and rotate the carrier to ajust the chain
    80s......185 atc, Yamaha tri-moto 200, 85 200x with tons of work
    90s......89 Suzuki quad racer 250 (raced 250 A class for 6 years, late 90s.. custom framed 250x with long travel shocks and a built 350x motor.... built Honda 110
    00s...... chomeoly framed 350 RX with all the goodies (thanks to my bro)
    2012.....Replaced the 350x motor for a 444cc YZ426

    and also i was wondering how the 250r sparks mine is really weaird it dosent start to spark on tell u stop kicking it over any answers to my problem or is this normal

    I would clean all the connections , then lube them and your good to go !

    What type of mix are you going to use ?

    hey i got it all to geather and well drove the hell out of it and it worked pretty good wasent really turning up thought but i went away for the weekend and got home and theres no fire if u play with the kill switch it will start but then it will die agian and i no my 200 used to do that and i cut the kill switch off but will the kill switch cut offf it has no fire at all i dont no what to do but i am getting very ticed off any one got some answers

    hmmmmmm, first I would try taking the kill switch assembly apart and make sure it is clean and not corroded badly, make sure the wires are solid and not loose. After that, trace your wires and make sure there are no small cuts or tears that might be grounding out against some metal. If none of that is the problem, you may just have a bad kill switch or coil. Oh, and are you sure your plug is good ?

    yes it has a good plug i think it might be the coil it looks good but i dont no ill have to try a new one today but if u play with the switch it will spark and in side the switch its nice and clean

    got the r going to day it was a bad swithch it is working pretty good for the first run i was wondering what mix do u guys use 30:1 or a different one?????????
