Tri-z front tire

Does anybody make a tire that will fit a stock Tri-z rim? What fits? I did a search but couldn't find anything.

There are many choices in 25x8-12 like on the 85 but there are fewer for 23x8-12 like on the 86. Last night I just ordered the Dunlop KT403 from bikebandit.com for $60 something in 23x8-12. (By teh way, their picture is incorrect) For some reason they are $115 from Dennisk kirk. I have a Dunlop KT401 on my other Z but its only available in 25". The 25" KT401 is OEM for the Timberwolf front, and 23" KT403 is OEM for Wolverine front.

Thanks guys! In your opinion, what is the best size to run? 25 or 23? I'll be riding on everything from the dunes to hardpack dirt..

yamahonda man runs this 22" tire everywhere says it turns just as good.. could go with that,,, its SUPER Light!!!! ITP sand star

i run the 22 sandstar too, it works good in mud, grass, dirt, you name it, and its light as hell!!

I run the dunlop kt403 also. I prefer the 23" over the 25" tires for handling and looks. I'm thinking about that itp sand tire for bike #2 also, glad to hear good feedback on it.

When I ride trails, woods, and mud, Id much prefer the 25". When you are riding over a lot of rocks and ruts, a bigger tire will roll over them much better, without dropping down in between them. The smaller teh tire, the more you have to roll over and feel each individual bump. Front height is easily adjusted by sliding the fork tubes up into the triples. I went with the 23" for the MX track, along with 18" rears. The smaller wheel should be able to turn a little tighter. Yamaha went with it to change the rake, but the same can be accomplished by sliding the fork tubes up in the clamps. Youve got at least a couple inches to play with without the wheel bottoming into the fender. I dont have much sand experience to say how well a smaller wheel works in sand, but you have to "match" it to the rears. I can say that if you run an aftermarket shock that raises seat height, and then 22" tires on the rear, you're not going to like a 23" front tire. If you run a stock length shock, and 20" rears, youll be fine. A larger 25" front wheel can be adjusted down with sliding the forks in the mounts. A 23" can not be adjusted up with forks in the standard top position. Also, youll find that tire heights run different. My 25" KT401's are noticeably shorter than the 25" stocker.
