Is there a way to take this shock apart to paint it without it loosing its pressure

loosen both the lock ring and the bottom ring on the top of the shock and you will be able to take the spring off. the spring comes off from the bottom you will see a slot where the bottom spring keeper will slid off the shaft,, slide that out and it will slide right off
