    Problems with 90 rm 250

    My bike will be running fine then just die and not start up. after kicking for a while or trying to pop start it ther will be gas on the plug. If it sits for like a day you can go back out and it will run fine for 10-15 minutes then die again. UUUUGGGGGHHHH!!!! Any ideas??

    Ok

    Its The Stator Its A Known Problem With That Bike. I Have Had The Same Thing Go On One Of My Old Bikes.

    now it runs for a couple of seconds and dies

    you can kick it and it runs for a second and shuts off still think its the stator? If so i can get one from dennis kirk for like 135 and change.

    I had a 93 RM250 that would do that too. Don't rule your stator out yet, but check your plug. I know that sounds like a pre-school solution, but hear me out. The RMs have a really hot ignition. They will literally blow a cheap plug in just a few minutes. The original plug that Suzuki runs in those bikes are about $30. You need to run an 8 in it. A 9 is too cold and will only last a few minutes at best. I was told a 9 would work just as well, but I had to go with a hotter one. I would try that before messing with buying a $135 stator.

    Pulled the plug its like new because i just put it in Its a b8egv (ngk) thats what it calls for its geting spark btw checked it. Did a compression test got 118 psi. How do check the stator i have a multi meter to do it just not sure how.

    U got me then. I think ran a B8HA in mine. Mine would still get spark, but I guess it wasn't a good enough spark to keep it running. Sorry, I don't know how to check a stator. I have never had and trouble with one. (knock on wood)

    118 is low, I'll get the factory spec tomorrow.

    As for it shutting down, is it overheating and seizing? Do a leak down test.

    I forgot about that. My pump seal went out and I didn't know about it. When my bike got too hot, it would shut off too. That should be something else you should check.

    Figured it out my friend mixed my gas wrong , while using a ratio right . Running fine again , if I want it done right gotta do it myself.

    just a suggestion- the b8/9/10 ev plugs are *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited*-
    the (ev)series are a wast of money- replace them with the (es) series if possible
    i swear the ev plugs i have used didn't last more than a couple rides ,and my bikes run great-

    yeah the dude at the suzuki dealer said the same thing and at seven bucks a popfor the b8egv ill go with br8es for like two bucks.
