Answer quick please! 350X purchase TONIGHT (Bought it!)

Found an '85 350X that is said to be in awesome condition... only flaw my buddy could find was a cracked fender that had been "repaired" and I'm leaving to look at in in like 30-40 minutes.

Anything on this particular model to look for? It starts on the first kick on a cold morning and doesnt smoke. The owner previous was a performance builder so it's rumored to have some "work" done to it, but I can't count that as any sort of price modifer since it's a rumor.

They want $1000 for it and it has a clean title.

    Silly me...

Took some more, but it's dark out since it was an hour:45 drive round trip, and I had to stop and pick up the title. As you can see, it's a bit rough and needs a little work. I gave them $900 for it because it runs awesome and the title is squeaky clean.

I not sure about the "extenders" on the plastic not being painted or at least bought as the correct color. The guard on the light... well... hmm. The plastic stitches for repairing the plastic... interesting. I think I'll seek to replace the plastic in the near future.

It looks like the nitrogen resevoir for the rear shock has an adjuster on it... is that right? http://members.tccoa.com/silkwood/resevoir.jpgShock Resevoir</a>

The few things I see that I need already include:
    Fork Boots
    Front Brake Line (it's white!)
    Front seat-mount rubbers
    Brake pads front/back
Parking brake block-off plate (anyone know where to find one?)
    Aftermarket exhaust (cosmetic upgrade )

Yes, 350x came with dials on the rezzy's. Its for compression. ALso, the front brake line is supposed to have a plastic coating over it. I don't know why, except for maybe its to keep it stiff so it doesn't bent into the front wheel.

The clutch cable is supposed to be routed down the frame behind the front tire. What do I see on the front axle? Can you take a close up of it? If your wanting to sell any parts or the fender extentions, let me know.

Hmm.. not sure what you're refering to, so I took shots of both sides. I have them in 1600x1200 high resolution if you're trying to see something small, here are links to them in 640x480 in case you're on dial-up. I can email you the high-res if needed.

i took my crappy front hose covering off + put a blue "wire loom" cover over mine.
yep,,, glad to see your score 200xStroker !john
Thanks John and thanks for your quick response too. I checked out those areas you mentioned and everything looks fine.

About those extenders... is there some paint or something for them?? They look out of place and "rigged" in the white.

Do you have a picture of your front hose covering? I thought this hose was off something else as a replacement or something... I was thinking blue "braided stainless" slip-on covering for mine.

What kind of cover can you get for the front brake line? I did not know that something like that was available.

Can someone post a shot of what it's supposed to look like from the factory? This thing on mine looks like it was red at one time and has since faded to... well... very light pink. Even the "boot" up where it connects to the front master cylinder is faded.. I'm assuming this "cover" from the factory wouldnt have gone up that far.

Check at any Honda dealer. They'll either have one or they can order you one.

Looks like you got a good deal on that 350X, those fender extensions are neat. As mentioned you'll be sorry if you remove them, the 350X's can really sling the mud, snow and water. That brake line is OEM and it's supposed to be that color and it's to keep the line in place and protect it from debri.
You should be able to see it on mine.
