    My forks are red now......

Today, I decided to paint my forks red, after trying to polish them.
The aluminum had too much texture in a few spots, so paint it was.
I use self-etching primer, and urethane paint. I had to play with the color a bit to get it right, but it's pretty close.
Just for reference, if anyone is looking for a spraypaint that's close to Passion Red, try Painter's Touch, by Rustoleum. The color is Apple Red. I have used it for some of my brackets and stuff, and it seems to be really close in color.
Anyway, here are some pics of the forks.

And so are most of your fork boots. Maybe you should of taped them off or took them off all together.

The red looks good though and that's the exact reason I went with painting mine instead of polishing them. too many gouges and imperfections.

Yea......It was all masked off. Trust me......I know what a mess overspray can be.
That's why my pipe and stuff were taken off.
The fork boots are garbage, so they got used for masking.
The weather was nice, and the wind was nill today, so it went outside for paint.
I think it turned out pretty good, and the new moisture trap in the airline helped, too.
My old one was just not cutting it.
I'm debating wether to go blue boots again, or red ones.
    I just don't know

lookin pretty good, I think i'd personally go with blue boots again so theres a little contrast on the forks but thats just me. Then again, red ones could look pretty nice too. Oh and by the way thats a darn nice lookin R!

I love the red forks. Really looks different! Stay with the blue fork boots IMO. I would also spend the extra on OEM boots. The ebay ones look cheap.
