Out of all of my trykes I like my 85 200X the best. In fact I too own a Big Red and a 250R. The 200x will not be as fast as you 250R but I think they are great for the trails. As far as value they go as high as $1,000-$1500 but I think $500 to $600 is a fair price for one in decent shape. What are they asking for it?

    he's asking around $900
he says it "mint" but in my experience that is never the case
I do want a 200x but im not sure wether I should be holding out for an 85-86 model, is there many differences to the 84?

also are they light compared to the R, how are they for jumping and wheelies?

    cheers

they are preety nice trikes, not near as fast as a r, but they hold there own really well for only being 200cc, they are really reliable to, i beat the crap out of mine for three years and doesnt even show any sign of getting weak, you wont be dissapointed with it, change the gearing a little bit and they are preety fun to mess around with

I beat the crap out of my 84 200x for 10 years before it slowed down. now i am building a new motor for it and putting the 350x suspension on it.

$900 in in the high range but it may be worth it. Offer him $700 all he can say is Get the hell out of here. I ride wheels with mine all the time but I do not jump. I also put a 200s motor in mine to get rid of the clutch.

200x is a decent machine, I love my 350X and its just its little brother, and the 83-85 models are all the same thing dude, then the 86 and 87 are different, but that 87 sure is one sharp looking trike man.

I'd give it a look. Even at $900, if it is in really good shape that's not bad. Look at every detail to see how it was taken care of. But if it needs any work or parts at all I'd start talking him down a bit. Any higher than that price and it should look like it just came from the dealer.

When I had my first one back when they first came out ('83) I did plenty of jumping with mine, and could wheelie for a 1/2 mile. Of course I was only 16 yrs old and 145 lbs back then and had no fear!
