on the ring around it with the two tiny screws it tells you on,off, reserve
The longer part of the lever is what its on just like the smaller one.. so right now in the pic its on reserve,,pointing down is ON and in the middle is off

    Can I ask a queston Erikb45..

I see you also have the second switch there.. does yours have to be pushed inwards a bit first before you can turn it? That's how mine is and I was just wondering if I put it back together correctly or if mine is messed up?

    thanks!

Its funny cause i always had difficulty trying to remember which was reserve and which was on. I used to look at the other bikes i rode with to make sure it was the same.

glad to see others had issues too.

I wondered the same thing until I ran out of gas and turned it around. Now I can tell when it's starting to run out then go to reserve right away while going, that way I don't have to kick it a million times to get the fuel going again. I don't let it run all the way out, just listen for when it's getting lean.

Man I'm really having a problem with this site, I need to get some work done!
any tips on how to slow down a bit would be greatly appreciated

It depends on how it was put back together. You can put the lever in backwards and they will actually be reversed because of how the backside of it is setup. I believe stock is like Raffa said but mine is reversed cause I put it back together wrong :P

or another possibility is that the lines comeing from the tank are switched.. I dont think it can go together backwards...

If you put it with the short end pointing the opposite direction of how it is stock (which I believe is towards the front) then it would be different.
