Pulled a stupid......tell me this will work

I was trying to get the right side cover of my 250R (clutch side), and pulled a stupid
I decided to tap on the coolant hose fitting to get the front of the case broke loose.
Guess what......it only took a couple light taps to break the fitting.
After getting the fitting out, and finding it was threaded, I tried to find one but it was no luck. The parts fische shows the fitting as part of the case, also.

To fix it, I tapped it to 1/2-14 NPT threads, and threaded a nylon 3/4" hose barb in.
It's the same size as the old one, real close, anyway.
I didn't wanna go brass in case I need to remove it. The nylon will be much easier to remove.
I believe it will work, I just wanted some thoughts on it........

Well, they make impellers out of plastic so I think your coolant fitting should be fine, unless your cases get super-hot.
    I'm back in the USSR...

yeah it should be fine... if u only tapped it lightly, then maybe it was previously cracked? but then again i've broken things by tapping them lightly too...
