'83 250r Broken Axle.. Need Info.

So easter weekend I was out ridding and long story short ended up shearing my axle off while crossing a cattle guard. so I'm now looking for another rear axle.

Anyways I was told by the local honda shop that the '83 was a one year only axle... I was just wondering if that was true and what the differances were and how can I tell it from other axles?

Any info would greatly be appreciated.

i think 83/84 250r is the same, also i think somthing about a 200x axle is the same too. dont trust dealer they know nothing. go to discounthondaparts.com or bikebandit.com or any other powersports web site and compare parts numbers. if what you find is not ture id go back to the dealer and tell the man "YOUR WRONG!"

i HAD AND 83 IN MY 84R. 81-82 ARE DIFFERENT

Thanks for the quick response's.... I thought the 83-84 were the same but the guy from honda had me second guessing my self.

How can i tell the difference between 81-82, 83-84, 85-on??
