    whats a 81-82 250r worth

One of the guys at our shop brought in his 1979 110 to sell to a coworker and one of the guys getting his oil changed said he had one that looked almost like that but it was a 250 and a 2 stroke and he got it from cali where they rode it in the sand. He wanted to sell it and said it was on a fresh rebuild. Is $600 too much for a running early R.

As with anything. It depends on condition.

And of course location. It seems the same bike that might pull 1000 here in Texas can pull 1500- 2000 in southern California.

    Here is a pic of my 82, I think it's worth about a 1300.00

    Well thank ya.
I still gotta dump some more dinero into it to get it where I want it to be.

Anybody know a good-affordable chromer? Or somewhere I can get a chrome (or polished) fatty pipe.

Damn it, There I go again. Hijacking the thread.

Anyway, Can you get us pics of this bike?

And I would say, After just spending 100 for a wireing harness, if the bike runs and has good parts on it, It is deffenitly worth it. Even if you just part it out on ebay. The "e" is for expensive children.

Well, we went and looked at it. It did run pretty hard. Needs lots of tlc nearly every cable was stuck or broken with the exception of the clutch and rear brake. The only thing left of the air cleaner was the inner screen. The headlight was gone and a kc daylighter was in its place. It had a no name pipe and a NICKS? silencer. He also has some chevron paddles for it? He wanted 600 and 700 with the paddles. It was just too rough and didn't really fit what we need. If it was $300-400 OK. I think it was cool and for the time awsome (we had a same year 110) but it would need a lot of mods to do what his 86 200x is now.

    thanks toocheap.

Yea, maybe that it is a little much. The filters are almost always desintigrated when you buy an old trike. You think he would sell the paddles by there self?

What kind of shape was it in cosmeticly?

Front fender broken, rear Ok looks like it has some trimming done. Lots of vintage stickers. Tank rough dented and faded paint. Lots of rust and the light had a chrome surround and a kc mounted in it with a toggle switch. Looks like it sat out a lot and pretty dirty. The reason the aircleaner scared me was he had been riding it that way for who knows how long. Ya, he thought the extra rims were worth 50 a piece at least. They were silver are they even r rims? I thought 110s would be the same. If he bought it it would have to be modded a lots to be useable for what we wanted to do. I would feel a little bad doing that but it like a 55 chevy do restore it or swap in a bbc and drag race it. I know what I would do to it but it may be just easier to start with a 83-86 with more suspension. Plus the guy wants too much for what it is.

Doubt it. Even NICE liquid cooled R's can barely get up to 2000. A NICE,FRESH aircooled R might bring up to 800 around here. Any year aircooled that is.
    Rest in peace Rex Carlson
