Guys my 85 big red makes a slight metalic sound when its running. Then when you turn it off you hear something spining inside the motor, for a couple of seconds after you shut it off is this normal. Do you guys think these 2 problems are related? thanks for any advice.

nope, the metalic sound could be timing chain, but most likely its valves. Could be alot of things though. The spinning sound is the oneway clutch (inside the centrifugal clutch) youll wanna fix that oneway very soon unless you wanna take out your e-start. (dont ask me why, but thats what happens)

Yeah definitely check the valve clearances.
