Saving 3 more trikes!!!! w00t!! ((((PICS))))

I found a guy on craigslist (<-- #2 site only to this one ) that had a "wheelers graveyard," everything was obo. So of course I called him up and asked about the 3- 3 wheelers he mentioned he had. Turns out to be a Yamaha and 2 Kawasakis. He didnt say what exact model they were, but he said they all were basicly complete, he just got them for the metric bolts (Hasnt anyone heard of a hardware store?!?! ) I asked him what he wanted for all 3 and he said basicly nothing, so I threw out 50$ expecting him to say 200$ or something like everyone else does. To my suprise, he took the offer, so I will be calling him back later and seeing when I can pick them up. I might just fix these and sell them, Im more of a Honda person, but Ill see what happens.

I think the only thing that could make this better is if they were a TriZ and 2 Tecates.

Well I just went and picked them up 10 min ago, and holy sh!t they are a sorry sight. I honestly dont know how people can let things get this bad. Pics when I get home tomorrow. What I hauled in was:

198? Kawasaki KLT 250 - plastic is demolished, most everything else is there, turns over, electric start works

198? Kawasaki KLT 200 - plastic is VERY sun faded but there, seized motor but e/c start works, couple of things missing.

198? Yamaha 200E - plastic in very good condition, tank and coil missing, turns over by pullstart, various pieces missing. FRAME IS JUNK, I'd be willing to bet that nobody on this board can top the bad condition that this frame is in. Yeah, its that bad!! Anyone up for guessing how many pieces this thing is in? Hint: waaaaaay more than should be possible

And about a million wheels and tires. free rims now I dont have a shortage lol

i think i can imagine what they look like, people run them until they cant be run right then park them out back and i swear they just beat the piss outta them with baseball bats.

maybe you could part them and make $50 back?

I think what I might do is make a good one out of the Kawi's, theres enough parts in either where I could make both work. I have access to enough parts that if I can get this other Kawi to turn over, then Ill consider making both of them good machines. The Kawis arent bad, they just mostly need plastic to look good. The KLT250 even has a speedo.

The Yamaha I think Im gonna fix and keep. Even thought the frame is in a million pieces, the rest of it is good, and I can find all the parts I need really easily. Does anyone know how to bypass the keyswitch on this one? And Ive seen 200E's with reverse, how hard would it be to put reverse on mine?

    All of them together:

KLT250: Even has a speedo - looks brand new!!!

    KLT200:

    Yamaha 200E:

    Subframe from Yamaha 200E:

Notice how they cut the driveshaft clean off, didnt even bother to unbolt anything. Rest of the frame is like this too.

    Warning sticker from Yamaha:

Look at the sticker REAL close, does anyone else notice a spelling error??

Wow. Those ARE rough. Looks like you got some work ahead of you. Hopefully you can make something usable out of all those. Those stickers are hilarious though. Goes to show you that engrish isn't something new.
