    350X...how are they?

I sold my 400EX a few weeks ago to get a trike. I was planning on getting an ATC250R or a Tri-Z.

Up untill a week ago, I've never heard of the ATC350X. How is this bike? I know it's a 4-stroke, but how does it compair to the 2-strokes?

    Short and sweet: Awesome!!!

A good running 350x will run with the 2 strokes. I ride a 350x and am currently hording all 350x parts I can for the future. If I am going to be riding I will have a 350x. It's got the "Power to Satisfy". You won't be disappointed.

    I second that...

Howdy is absolutely right. 350x's are awesome machines that have everything you want in 1 low maintenance package. Better hurry and get one though - and once you do, start stockpiling parts.

    plus

you often get a 350x confused with a racer - they are definetly quicker and faster than a 400ex........

Don't expect that 350X to be too much faster.

Someone on E-Bay has a 350X (no pictures) for $1000 in NH. It's about an hour and a half from my house. They are going to fax me a picture today.

I might check it out this week-end if it doesn't sell on E-Bay.

Is there any weak spots on the frame that I should check?

    My 400EX motor was stock.
I ran an E-Series pipe, then an Yoshi pipe (jetted of course). It also had a K&N air filter and sometimes I used an UNI foam filter.

The best it ran was with the White Brother E-Series with 6 extra disks (18 total) and no air-box lid. Very loud!

In multiple drag races with a piped Raptor, piped Banshee and a stock Warrior it always came in third. The Rapter was 1st, Banshee one quad length behind and then my 400EX one length behind the Banshee. I think the Warrior is still out there trying to get to the finish line (lol). Once I hit 5th gear it was all over. The other two quads kept on gaining space from me. I had a 14 tooth front sprocket over the stock 15 tooth, so my top end was crap, but great holeshoots.

That's kinda like my setup but I run the T4 exhaust. If your looking for more speed get a 250R but if your looking for about the same in a 3Wheeler the 350X will work fine. The only reason I say this is because I don't want you to get a 350X thinking it will be tons faster than what you had because it won't. The 250R will have better shocks for jumping too but if your just out there banging out the woods the 350X will be good.

So you really sold it to get a trike? You should go the distance now and get an 86 ATC250R. Well you should always get what you think you would like the best. Some day I want one. I had an 86 Tri-Z that was really fast but it just wasn't a Honda. It was ported and polished and milled for a little more compression. I relocated the fuel tank back 3/4" and installed a Banshee shock. Also widened the rear with some 10" douglas rims with 20" turf tammers on them. I sold it to get the 400EX.

Truth is, I sold it because I need cash for an addition that I'm building. I fugured that I could pick up a 3-Wheeler for $800-$1200 and put the rest of the cash into my house.

Someone I know has an 86 Tri-Z for sale for about $1000. Problem is he fell off the face of the Earth. I'm not sure if he's away at school or what.
