Thumbs down Sorry I didn't see you UPDATED

This happened a couple of weeks ago but I though I would share the bad news
I went out for a ride on my bike, I didn't even have a reason, but the sun was shining so I thought why not.
I'm allways careful with my speed in town, and luckily I was doing 30 MPH.
I was just coming up to a junction and a car pulled straight across in front of me to turn into it
I hardly had any time to react, but remember locking my front wheel. As I was lay on the floor with the bike on top of me the lady got out and said 'sorry I didn't see you' which didn't make me feel any better lol
Luckily I had all my protective gear on, and I came out of it with some bruises, the bike doesn't look so good though To top it off as she moved her car out of the road she drove over the back end of the bike causing more damage!!!!
The insurance company have written it off, just waiting for the money so I can start the repair
Anyway, first one is as it was.

Dude that sucks, luckly your alright.. That is the main reason I don't want a bike, not because I'll kill myself at such highspeeds, but BLIND ASS people not aware of their surroundings while driving!

AWWW damn! that looks bad, did you get what its worth from the insurance?.

A friend of mine was coming to my house and 200 yards from it a woman pulled out infront of him in his 88 mini, he didnt manage to stop in time and hit her. It crunched up his mini and she said the same thing, I didnt see you coming. But the money there giving for the mini isnt what its worth to replace so hes a bit upset.

    Looked mint before!

    Get riding again soon!

First off, glad to hear you made it out alright.

Man that really sucks. That bike is sick looking, or at least was. She did quit a number on that thing.

Im actually suprised they didnt total it.

Good luck with the rebuild, and keep us posted.

That is a sharp bike! I hope you get it back to the original way. That rear swing arm is insane looking.

I've learned the hard way in motorcycle accidents, Get a Lawyer! I was hit and run on my bike. Luckily there was a policeman near the accident scene that went after the guy when he bolted. I had me a nice trip to shock trauma, not fun at all. And when they caught the hit and run driver, no license-no insurance-no registration- stolen tag and he was an illegal immigrant too. Since he had no money all they did was throw the guy in jail. Luckily I have a friend or 2 in the corrcectional system who made sure this person had a very nice large african american roommate who was very amorous. To say the least this guy was not lonely at night. That was my only real satisfaction of the whole deal. I have full coverage insurance on my bike and always will for this reason and my insurance company tried to royally screw me over on paying for the bike and my medical expenses, which came to a whole lot of money for staying the evening in shock trauma. I ended up having to get a Lawyer and go after my own insurance company!!!! Do yourself a favor and get yourself a lawyer. The insurance company is not there for you, just your money and there are so many things that you are entitled to that the insurance companies do not want to disclose that it would make you sick. Get a Lawyer and don't sign anything!
Good luck and glad you're OK.

Normally I don't really care for bikes like that (more of a Harley/Victory/street bike guy) but that is/was a real clean example. People like that driver piss me off. I'd like to get a bike someday but the amount of totally brainless people behind the wheel these days is frightening. Mandatory retesting every couple years NEEDS to become law. Some days I hate driving a car and I drive a big-ass wagon.

Thats interesting that the insurance company wrote it off. Must be because it is an old bike. Doesn't look like an insane amount of damage. Could you list what is now wrong with the bike? CBR400 right? I always liked those bikes....a little small for me but really quick.
    Rest in peace Rex Carlson

The damage isn't too bad really. but the panels and radiator are no longer available from Honda, so I guess thats why they wrote it off. They have offered me £1290 for it, but I can't replace the bike for that so I'm currently argueing with them
Luckily when I renewed my insurance (the week before this happened!!) I took out legal expenses cover, so the they have got a solicitor fighting it for me. They are trying to claim compensation for my injury and damage to all my clothes and helmet. Also they have kindly provided me with a 650 Bandit to ride until my claim is settled so the insurance company are looking after me pretty well
CBR400 is a good guess, but not right Really its too small for me as well, but after trying other bigger bikes I always some back to it because of how light and nimble it is
I'll keep you all up to date with my claim

Nice Bike - my brother has a real clean 87 VFR700F2 Interceptor. Your bike must not have made it to the states - Isn't it a VFR400 - v-four engine - 100cc's per cylinder?
