Depends on how you build the engine. Everything has to work together. The rad will turn things tords the topend power more so that the v force.

i found the Rad brought the powerband lower in the throttle on my 85 250R...and that install was from stock reed block and reeds...... i have never tried the V force.....just my $0.02

I've had the chance to compare two exact quads with pretty much the same mods except for Boyesen and V-Force reed cages (Polaris 400 Sports), and as I recall, I honestly couldn't tell any difference under trail conditions. To me it comes down to the Boyesen being cheaper to replace reeds on.

I need to get my hands on a new Vforce 3 soon. I like my Vforce 2 just fine though.

Is the V3 adjustable like the V2?

(If I don't get a good boot first)The only factor really on my mind with these two choices is getting one that has the carb mount provision included like the Rad Valve does....since all 5 of the intake boots I have are rotted. I have seen pics of the V-Force 3 that seemed to indicate that it came with the boot, but I've also seen pics without it.....so I'm unsure of it.

That aside, I need mid-top end power....so I'd go with whichever one lends itself to that goal.

The vforce does not come with a boot.

The 85 carb boot with cracks is an easy fix. You buy that rubber tool handle dip and dip the outside of the boot, let it dry and repeat a few times as needed. It works. Don't know if you can find it in black?

You running an airbox? KX boots will fit up but turn the carb towards the left.

I called a couple places moments ago and found that you're right about the V-Force not coming with the boot.

I planned to do the tool dip thing if money wouldn't allow a KX boot or other reed valve assembly .

No on the airbox, just gonna run a clamp on Uni 2-stage and be done with it.
