    1980 liquid cooled yamaha 125??????

    Does anybody know what the heck this dirtbike actaully is? I dont know of any yamaha dirtbike from 1980 that was liquid cooled. I am trading for this dirtbike soon, and the guy dosent know what model it is. He says it is a 1980 yamaha. Please help.

    The 1980 YZ aircooled, DT is aircooled, all the yamaha bikes from that year are aircooled. Maybe the dude has the wrong year or somthing.

    With out knowing more I can’t tell but here are a few tips to go by


    1981 Is The First Year Of The Watercooling on the YZ125, the rad was up in front of the bars
    In 1982 yamaha put the first yamaha power valve system(ypvs) on the yz125 and yz250.
    In 83 Rads came off the bars to either side of the tank on 125 & 250. Another new mono-x design!
