200x Fuel leak - need help

I've had many atv growing up but this is the first one that I have bought and I'm a beginner with trike mechanics. I have a 200x. I was cleaning it and putting the skid plates back on when I noticed my fuel line was leaking a bit. I took it off and saw a crack in the tube. So I bought a new one and put it on, but when I switch the petcock to on the fuel goes to the carb and drains right out the bottom tube on the carb. What would be the problem?

It sounds like your float valve is not closing. You might have a little peice of dirt in it. Try tapping on the bowl with a plastic screwdriver handle a few times while the gas is on, maybe your float got stuck. If not, I would take apart your carb completely and blow it out with compressed air. It would give you a chance to learn how to rebuild your carb.
