just put my new springs and washers in then kicked it over and the spring came off and the the kickstarter wouldnt return up. took back off .now the spring is more worn then the one i replaced i must be installing it wrong

i need helpwith this if anyone has installed one , i dont have a manual a picture would be helpful. it not my 3 wheeler though it my 250r cr 1984 i just cant wait forever to post on the bike sectiion thanks would like to ride this weekend
