Hi, I've got a gearing problem.
The machine is a 250 ES 1985/6 with a short shaft starter.
When I got it, the 18/43 gear was missing various teeth from the 43 ring. So bought a new gear and fitted it. This soon lost a tooth from the 18 ring, so thinking this is a common problem I got another gear. When I fitted this one the starter wouldn't turn over at all and on closer investigation the first gear I fitted was a 16/43 and the second replacement was a 15/43!
Does anyone know what these other gears are from, and how many teeth should the second reduction gear have to suit these cogs?!
Thanks, Rob.
