    200x clutch help

    i was out riding today and my buddy got his quad stuckso i use my 200x and hooked his winch to it and held the brakes so he could pull out well that didnt work so i tried giving him a little pull now my 200 x wont go would the friction plates and clutch plates be shot or warped? or something else? can you adjust it like a 110?

    make sure the clutch cable is dis engaging all the way. some times and oil change helps too. but sounds like you may have smoked the clutch. the adjustment is on the clutch lever.

    i changed the oil before i went should i do it again?

    what kinda oil did u use? not synthetic was it?

    i would put new oil in then adjust it. if it dont work then you may have cooked the clutch plates. ooo yea when you put oil in make sure it isnt synthetic oil.
    down to parts because i no longer have a place to ride trikes.

    its not synthetic at least i dont think i t was. i think i got pensoil soud i tighten the cable or loosen?

    well what exactly is it doing when you try to put it in gear and so on ?
    down to parts because i no longer have a place to ride trikes.

    after i did it it would move but not goog it would kinda rev high before it would move so i thought i got them hot so i let it cool till i got home well when i got home i can shift throuh all the gears and now it wont even move ya release the clutch and nothing shift into 2nd and nothing through all the gears

    are you sure the chain is on and stuff? if u put it in gear and push it what does it do? if u need some help give me a call u kno the number....

    chain is fine you and put it in gear it kinda trys to drag the tires not like it did when i got it though

    IMO it Sounds like a smoked clutch, time for a replacement.

    i was on a web site and it says the clutch pisc and plates from a 185 will work in a 84 200x is that true? i might have some 185 clutches laying around till i get some spare cash

    They use the same style disk, how ever the 200x used more of them.

    the best thing u can do is pick up a new set of clutch plates on ebay ($22)put them in and go mine is doin the same thing right know and im getting ready to order some dont try to put used ones in i did and it did the same thing dont forget to tighten the bolts to the right specs
