    Help! YTM 200ern Carb ???

Hi! I'm hoping somone can help me out. I've got 1985 yamaha 200ern I'm trying to get running. This is my first attempt at working on bikes; I'm working on the carb, and I'm afraid I wasn't careful enough when I took it apart. How does the needle valve attach to the float? I'm assuming there must be some sort of clip or something (which I'm afraid I lost). Is that something I can pick up at the dealer? Anybody got a carb they want to sell? Arg! Any wisdom would be appreciated!

Theres a little wire clip that freely holds it to the float tab. If you go to www.bikebandit.com and look at the exploded oem parts diagram, you would get an idea how it goes back together. See if you can print out that page so you could keep it handy when you are working on it. I rebuilt my carb just recently. I got my rebuild kit from motorhead sports on ebay. It comes with a bunch of the parts you would need. That is one of them. It only costs like $30.00 plus shipping.
I might have the old clip. I just have to find it. LMK what you want to do. If I have it and that's all you need, I'll send it to you by mail.

Hey, thanks. I've got Clymer's, Haynes, and Yamaha exploded views, and none of them shows the clip. I've looked for rebuild kits, and the closest I've been able to find is for the YFM 250. I checked out the motorhead sports guy on ebay, and that is what he has a well. Is that what you used? I went to yamaha, and cross ref'd the two carbs, and it seem like they're close, but the jets are different. Maybe they still work OK, I don't know. But the needle valves are the same, so maybe thats all I'll need. I may take you up getting your old clip, if you have it. How much do you want for it?

Okay I found the old float plunger with the clip still attached, so send me your info and i'll mail the whole thing to you as soon as i can so you can ride. Is that allyou are missing. Be carefullnot to take a screwdriver to where the rubber tip seats up against or your gonna have more problems. If you put a ding on that seat, fuel could keep on coming through. I went through that with my 250R. The previous owner took the carb apart to clean it and cause me a world of hurt.
