no matter what gear you are in, with it not running, We can push it around like its in nutral. it feels like there is no compression, good spark, and fresh gas. We can hear the motor turning over, and the carb was just cleaned. The main problem, it will not start. Its been sitting for 3 years. (the rider had a tree fall ON him, in the middle of a ride)

Tried a new plug? Sounds like you have some clutch issues as well. Does it only feel like there's no compression when you push or when you kick it as well?Just a BTW, it's just YZ, not YZF.

Its not my bike, the manual said yzf, thanks for the correction. There is almost no compression, but the plug gets great spark. And he tried starting fluid ( I know, bad idea) but it did not even fire on that. Another guy pulled the plug and found no oil in the tranny, I know on my Honda, it would affect the clutch, but im not going to find out how.

Sounds like the rings are stuck or gummed up on the piston. Try and put a few drops of oil in the cylinder to see if that will raise the compression any. A little BP blaster in the cylinder might free them up.

Seems you have no compression. It will never run if it doesnt have any. Remove top end and be prepaired to send cylinder off to get re-plated. Those are nicasil. New piston, rings, pin bearing and pin. Then it will run. Probably just worn out. Not a big deal. High strung 125's need strict maintenance to perform. And even then a fresh top end at least once a year depending on hours used.
