    pro circuit exhaust on 200x?

So ive been looking at the pro circuit exhausts for a 400ex for a while now. They look like they would fit with minor modification? Looks like you would have to cut the header a inch or so and relocate a mount. Questions are: has anyone ever did this? And will drilling into the frame to make a new mounting location in any way weaken it? Thanks

stock is alot different from looking at them. On the stocks its just a short pipe sticking out directly left. On the aftermarket slipons its a gradual bent that curves up slightly, and by cutting the header up farther it SHOULD angle it so its away from the frame and flush with the ground and not pointing up. I think they were using stock 450r exhausts on 350xs?

Could you possibly post a pic of it? I looked in your old posts and noticed that they have all been edited and the pic's are gone? Im not sure how similar the 450s are to the 400s but i'm assuming there not hugely different in design.

I can show you pics of mine.it's a 450r exhaust on a 84 200x.I think 200x newby has a 86 200x so his is different.I just bought a used pipe off ebay for cheap.then i cut it up and tig welded it together. It's not so pretty but it works

Thats not a bad conversion at all! Looks really nice. Im hoping that the 400ex exhaust dosent require that much modification. The difference I can see between the stock 450 and 400ex aftermarket is that the inlet on the EX exhaust dosent bend direcly out. It has a slight bend to the left and a small upward bend.
So I guess well see once I get a EX exhaust.

About the mounts, will drilling and welding a nut to the frame in anyway weaken it? Thats the only way to really mount the ex exhaust since the mounting tab is located in the center and not the end like the 450s.

I wouldn't weld your frame .I would just cut the 400ex mount off the muffler and make a new one to suit your needs .I have a 400ex muffler The mount makes the muffler stick out too far and will hit the tire anyway .
