found a tecate, got a few questions about them...

I was out riding around yesterday and I came across a Tecate setting up
under an old shed. Not for sure on the year model couldn't get real close to it.
The radiator look to be mounted by the triple clamps and it had a big front tire.
I stopped to ask about it but the owner wasn't home.
before I check into it any further I had a few questions...
--any clue as to what year model this is? ( I am guessing 85??? )
    --are parts still available?
--think it is worth looking into?
    thanks

same tires different front brake set ups. 84 is drum and has gold rims, the 85 is disc and has silver rims. just a forewarning, they are a very fast bike, with an unpredicatble powerband sometimes. hahaha.
1985 KXT 250 Tecate - kx cylinder, kx ignition, bassani headpipe, answer silencer, v-force reeds, 38mm airstyker carb, +2 franks swinger, raptor rear shock.

    1996 YSF240 Blaster - maxxed out!!!

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "HOLY SH-T, what a ride!"

Faster then your aircooled R. Accelerate very quickly. Its a race bike at heart with some provisions for trail riding that the designers cobbled together.

Great fun, nice suspension and very hard hitting power.

kinda reminds me of something my little brother said...
He bought a new brute force kawi....said it could out pull anything I had at
home....so I told him to "bring it on sucker".....
when he came over I chained it to my 1956 ford 860 power master tractor...
    needless to say I won

as far as outrunning my R ,I beat them before years and years ago at the
track . I don't have anything to prove anymore...
but if the situation arises,I will shortly have my 3oo kit and other goodies
    installed
