    KLT overheating

    i start up my klt and the exhaust is immidatly HOT...is that bad ...i mean wash the bike and start it up that same instant the water is boiling....i adjusted the valves in stalled a new oem numbered NGK plug changed the oil and cleaned the carb...the bike is as close to new as possible...so are kawis just warm blooded

    Your running way too lean. Go a few jet sizes up and adjust the air/fuel mixture.

    well thats whats weird its all oem ..oem size jets..oem exhuast....only thing not oem is the uni filter and tires lol......and the plug is ALLWAYS golden tan! is that normal or what?

    Opening up the intake with the Uni filter is going to make a change, and you need to add more fuel.

    Yes, water will boil straight off the exhaust, the gasses going through there are super hot. Its burning fuel, its gonna get hot.

    The water steaming off within 20 seconds? Yup thats ok to me. I know my buds klt its less then 20 secs, the Z its pretty quick too. As you said the plug is fine, so dont worry. Things will get hot.

    nope i did find a hole in the intake tube ...no wonder he gave me a new on in a box lol....tht fixed it.....runs MUCH better
