    198? 250r Help

I just picked up a roller 250r chasis and first i need help figuring out what year it is. It is obviously all red and has 250 written in white on the gas tank with honda above that. It has a disc front brake, drum rear and a twist throttle. Also it is a right handed chain drive which i noticed was different from my left hand 200x. Also it has a red shock in the rear ( i have no clue if this matter or helps i just know my X has a blue one)

As for the trike itself its a roller no motor but everything else is there minus a few minor parts. I have taken pics but have to get them put on a CD before i can post.

Your guys help would be appreciated.

Oh yeah and does anybody have a good condition motor out there for me?

yeah i have come to the conclusion that it is an eighty one also due to the changes i have looked up in pictures online. Is this thing worth sticking a motor in or should i just part her out. I know it will be faster than my 86 200x and a hole lot slower than the 85-86r's.

So what do you guys think i just wanted a two stroke and thought i got a pretty good deal on what i got.

so i am assuming that 81-84 250r motors are a direct bolt in for an 81? Where is the best place to find a complete/semi complete motor around here?

im pretty sure there a direct bolt in but im not 100% sure, check with someone else. the best place to find a motor is here on the boards in the classifieds, or on ebay.

81-84 motors will all interchange personally I like the 81-82 R's and may pick up one later for myself.

The only thing different between the 81-82 motors and the 83-84 motors is color, the shifter, and the shifter shaft, it is shorter on the 83-84 models but it can be interchanged.

Good that makes life a lot eaiser b/c thier is a few on ebay right now.

A few more questions. I can take and push on the side of my trike and the swing arm seems to have about a 1/16 inch worth of slide on the axle ( side to side type of deal) I am assuming that the bearings inside the swingarm where the axle is housed is shot right? Also can someone post a picture of what the swingarm/Chaing adjustment is supposed to look like on a 81 250r (close up if possible because i believe there are some parts of mine missing)

Also what fork assembly will fit this trike. I read 83-85 200x are a bolt on but is there any truth to this? If not are there others? I just want to get rid of that massive tire set up!
